It is refreshing and deeply satisfying to purchase something that is made by a craftsman especially for you. A piece of furniture that can be passed down from one generation to another is special. Jim Reedy Custom Woodworking is a one-person shop that makes beautiful furniture in a variety of styles. I use only fine quality solid wood and employ hand carving, traditional joinery and extensive use of hand tools to create my furniture. My pieces aren't inexpensive, but I have found that the bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Mar 19, 2015Working with Jim was an absolute pleasure. We had him build a large mirror for our dining room and are thrilled with the results. A true professional, Jim worked with us through three iterations on the mirror molding and at least two iterations on the stain before we selected a final design. He kept us informed regarding progress from start to finish, and the final product is a testament to his expertise as a woodworker. Jim gets five stars across the board.

From the proposal, which was quick and priced right (and included a computer graphic) through keeping contact re: progress, up to delivery of a table which was exactly to my specifications. It was a pleasure dealing with Custom Made, and especially Jim Reedy, who reminds me of a 'Vermont craftsman and gentleman'. I have already recommended this site to friends.
