Oak Wall Unit
Material: Flat Sawn and Quarter Sawn Red Oak Location: Ellicott City, MD The client wanted to complement existing furniture in a room with a wall unit that leans on the art and craft style. The unit is almost completely solid red oak. The sides are paneled. The doors are flat panel doors. The door panels and the drawer fronts are made of quarter sawn oak. The columns are square flutes which are toped by a small carving. All the drawers are dovetailed and slide on wooden runners. The wall unit features period hardware.

Feb 19, 2013Steffen took real care in the design, even adding an inlaid gingko leaf to match the Craftsman theme of the room. It is a stunning piece. We love the contrast of woods, and he seamlessly incorporated five different woods which all blend harmoniously. We have begun another project, so pleased were we with the result.
