This traditional mahogany library-office has been detailed, floor to ceiling, wall to wall, every opening and cabinet blending into each other, including the ceiling. As in all my tailored rooms the moldings have been designed to make every transition secure and graceful. The cabinets are framed with 6 inch wide fluted columns that incorporate light sconces with custom back plates designed to work with the column flutes. The recessed panel moldings are antique guilded to compliment and contrast the dark mahogany finish. The base molding is substantial enough to support the tall cabinets and paneling with a large six piece soffit to accept the coffered ceiling beams. Two crown moldings were used to make the transition from cabinets to soffit and from the beams to the ceiling. This room has 3 successful focal points. The fire place, the opposing entertainment cabinet and the large window behind the desk that is literally 50 feet above the edge of a major river. The room has a multiple step antique toned lacquer finish. It was completely built in shop and installed on site, pre-finished. All panels and molding are glued in place. There are no visual means of attachment to be seen. A few words about Tailored Rooms… Meticulously detailed, a 'Tailored Room' is your special place to enjoy. I call these rooms, 'tailored', because of the exact custom fit and the amount of attention to every detail that goes into every square inch of these very personal rooms. Whether it's a library, office, bar, game room, family room, media room or bedroom. The walls, windows, jambs, doors, floor, ceiling are brought together with the cabinets, paneling and transitional moldings to present a completely, ""Tailored Room"". From contemporary to traditional, eclectic or theme, whatever your design period or style tastes may be, we'll design, build and install, the room for you. Welcome to my Site . . .
I'm a skilled Craftsman, Designer, Artist, who specializes in fine cabinetry, furniture and Artwork. I seek individuality in design for my customers.
Since 1970, I’ve designed & built custom cabinets, furniture in PA, NJ, and NY.
Each project is designed for you, using my many years of experience. I can also work with your architect, designer or builder, using your designs.
My projects range from ‘Classic Traditional’ to ‘Contemporary’ in design, including ‘Crafts Style’, with its artistic exposed joinery. As you will see in my online portfolio.
I use a wide range of quality and interesting materials. From unique solid woods in the form of flitches, (natural edge boards that can be 36’’ wide, 14 ft long and 3’’ thick) to specific highly selected exotic veneers and grain patterns.
Over forty years of experience has tempered and honed my skills…. along with the ability to understand the needs of my clients and communicate my ideas.
My projects have been published in, House Beautiful Sept 1986, House Beautiful Home Remodeling and Renovations, Spring 1988, Better Homes and Gardens, Better by Design, April 1999. And most recently Fine Woodworking.
I'd like to mention my invention and subsequent US patent award, for the “EuroButt II System Hinge”. Which allows the cabinetmakers that use or want to use the concealed hinge the option to give the traditional design element of the traditional ball tip hinge barrel to the European concealed hinge.

For chest/consoleThe cabinet fits just perfect. All your little "cut out" details make a huge difference. Everything is so neat and tidy, no plugs or cables showing. We bolted it to the wall right away. It's really great looking, a naturally beautiful & unique piece we will always enjoy. It's so sturdy too. Keep up the good and creative work. I have other "hard to fit" areas in this house. Thanks for creating such a cool piece.
