"Blue Moon" Outdoor Sculpture Carved From Juniper Wood
Our new outdoor sculptures incorporate the same carving techniques as the indoor sculptures. Each one also includes some kind of embellishment like this one pictures. "Blue Moon" was carved from Juniper. There are a few see thru areas, along with texturing that was burnt. A large gazing ball allows you to see the surroundings and a bright blue ball adds a pop of color. It turns on a base made of pressure treated wood that was also textured. Even though Juniper is a good outside wood, we also applied an outdoor finish to ensure longevity. This piece stands about 7ft tall and 4ft wide. We are a husband and wife team, residing in the beautiful mountains of Candy Kitchen NM where we create incredible chainsaw carved sculptures and vessels out of wood. Each is a one of a kind collectors addition. We like to work with woods such as "Forest Reclaimed" old growth Alligator Juniper that is local to our area. We also prefer woods such as mesquite and AZ Ironwood due to their beauty. All the sculptures we create are unique in design and not only show off Scott's' carving ability, but the beauty in the wood itself.
