Elliptical Conference Table
This conference table was created for a large construction firm in Alaska. It could also serve nicely as a dining table. The customer wanted a strong, simple design featuring indigenous species and decided on figured red birch. The perfect ellipse is bordered by black ebonized birch, with base to match. The beautifully figured veneers were custom cut and applied in matched quadrants to a honycomb composite core using vacuum bagging techniques. This form of construction proves superior to solid wood in several ways. It is more stable….impervious to warping and seasonal shrinkage. It is both lighter in weight and more rigid, and it is easier on our precious timber resources. It is lighter and more economical to ship.
