I'm very easy to work with, and very forgiving when people change their minds. I change my mind sometimes too. So I will try to work with you if you need to cancel or return something. At the same time, I have to be fair to myself, if I've already purchased materials that aren't refundable, or have already cut into materials that are, I'll need to retain that amount so I don't go into my own pocket at least. In other words, we can talk about it. I'm reasonable and fair.

It was a perfect challenge. A family in Colorado asked for a well-designed, refined office desk to complement - but not to match - their home's rustic, log cabin feel. They weren't interested in rustic furniture, but neither did they want something completely unrelated to their setting. I focused my efforts on creating something of a celebration of the log home tradition, a piece that would take the form to its highest level. This desk was the result. The thick walnut horizontal pieces are spaced slightly apart by extraordinarily figured, instrument grade tiger maple to echo the calm, stable effect of a mountain cabin (click here to see the result). The top is made of the same extraordinary instrument grade curly maple (one of the finest pieces of wood I've ever worked). The pencil drawer features a hidden compartment in the back, and the large drawer at the bottom has handmade wooden slides on the interior to accommodate hanging file folders.

With nearly two decades of experience crafting all manner of hand made furniture and cabinets, I am especially experienced at designing and crafting custom furniture for the home, such as the dining room table, dining room chair, king bed and queen bed, morris chair, side table and end table, coffee table, buffet, sideboard, credenza, dresser, chest of drawers, blanket chest, rocking chair, writing desk, and office chair. While I have a design style all my own, my influences are from the Arts and Crafts, Shaker, and Asian aesthetics.
