This chest was inspired by a stool at the Museum of Fine Art in Boston. I had in mind to make a footlocker-style chest, and the stool had the general shape that the chest eventually took. The relief carvings on the panels are renditions of paintings at the Beijing Musem Art Museum. This chest is 18 inches high, 22 wide and 33 long; therefore it is also used as a bench or a coffee table. When used this way you can place it in the center of a room to show all four sides. 'The Purple Cliffs' is currently available.
