This screen was a commission by a patron wishing to remember a special vacation to Botswana, thus the acacia tree theme. A fish eagle and monitor lizard are worked into the carving design. The panels are shoji style and pivot within the outer frame. The outer frame folds on handmade double hinges. The screen does disassemble when need arises. The paper is handmade by Angela Follensbee, and incorporates locust pods and leaf matter. It is very interesting. The screen is accompanied by a small display table with a carved leopard reclining on it. A screen of this type can be custom designed to a theme chosen by a new patron.
