Contemporary Portly Chest Of Drawers
The Portly Chest of Drawers is a contemporary piece of high-end, luxury deco furniture, a bit removed from the glamorized interpretive old world sculptured furniture. However I enjoyed crafting this piece of furniture, as much as any piece I have ever done. The design of this piece came to me in an instant. As my wife and I entered a grocery store, a very portly, I say a very portly woman, walked in front of us. IMMEDIATELY I had an image of a chest of drawers. I said to my wife, she's going to be my next piece of furniture. My wife doesn't really appreciate me telling the story of how this piece was inspired, but it's good to laugh, even if it isn't politically correct. The Portly Chest of Drawers is 5 feet tall, 5 feet 1 ? inches wide and 24 inches deep, (Get the picture?) made with four different types of hardwood including: solid Birdseye maple and Peruvian Walnut. The beveled mirror is adjustable.

Here you will find a chair otherwise known as The Throne, so named because of its massive size and extravagant carving and inlay this piece is an original with over 8000 hours in its creation. You will also see one of my favorites, the Rosewood Lamp, this piece was lavishly carved using five different types of hardwood including a bouquet of yellow roses. All of the wood in this piece including the yellow satin wood roses are their natural colors. The roses themselves are carved from solid blocks of hardwood.

We've carved many roses over the years, including Rose bouquet's. Some of our roses are designed with a concealed pocket to place an anniversary ring or engagement ring in.

long stemmed 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and one dozen roses.
All of our roses are original and one-of-a-kind. These roses are carved freehand without a pattern, and strictly from the imagination. Starting from a solid block of wood, minute by minute, hour by hour small bits of wood are carved away and slowly a rose begins to come into focus. As each day passes it becomes more refined until finally the finish sanding is complete and the rose is fully blossomed into a flower of great beauty and satisfaction. A great part of the satisfaction is bringing pleasure to other peoples lives as they examine all the intricate detail involved in a single rose.
