Maple And Walnut Dining Table
A 48" by 96" maple dining table on a walnut and trestle base. The two 10' planks, lightly spalted, came from a large dying tree in Traverse City. Two feet off each plank joined the two 8' planks and formed a well for the soapstone center. The catalyzed varnish finish will be worry free for decades.

My goal in woodworking is to build utilitarian objects that also fascinate the eye. I build heirloom pieces of figured lumber. Hopefully, these pieces will enliven interior spaces for generations. I enjoy the challenge of designing a piece to fit a specific need, but I am also comfortable working with designs by architects and other designers.
