Mission Buffet

5.0(6 reviews)

To complement the dining set we designed the Mission Buffet in quarter saw white oak. There is a great deal of storage behind each of the doors, which has a single glass shelf on each side, which is adjustable. The six drawers have half blind dovetails and the small center door has an oak inlay in the center. This has proven to be one of our more popular designs. The hardware shown is southwest in style but a selection of both bronze and solid brass Mission style is available

Brian made a beautiful conference room table and credenza from black walnut. I have received several compliments from clients. Not only is Brian's workmanship excellant, but his attention to the fine details and design really make these items of furniture one-of-a- kind. Brian spent a significant amount of time researching the best way to affordably add a special design I wanted on the credenza doors, without additional cost to me.

My husband and I are the proud owners of one of Brian Murphy's beautiful and comfortable hand crafted Bow Arm Chairs with footstool. It is a source of great pride in our home and we enjoy all the compliments we get from friends! Brian is an exceptional craftsman and committed to creating excellent, quality furniture that will become family heirlooms. He is a friendly and straight forward person to work with, and our experience with him could not have better.

When we began to look for dining room and living room furniture, we had 3 criteria in mind: quality, reasonable price and local production. In Brian Murphy, of Murphy’s Fine Woodworking, we found everything we were looking for, and more. Brian is more than a woodworker who makes furniture; he is an artist with a refined eye for detail. Each piece was hand-crafted of superior quality and exquisite detail. For our project, he used quarter-sawn oak to give a spectacular grain pattern then handpicked the pieces with the most distinctive grain to use in the most visible areas of each piece. The drawers of our bedroom dresser were made from the same piece of oak and the grain pattern flows continuously across the dresser. We were so impressed with the Mission style living room and dining room furniture Brian made for us, that we commissioned him to make a bedroom set, as well. We now have family heirlooms and beautiful pieces of “art” throughout our home. We love the furniture and we loved working with Brian.

Mr. Murphy hand made a seven foot tall, ten foot long book case for my home using quarter sawn red oak. It is a beautiful piece of furniture that draws comments from every visitor. He is truly a professional craftsman.

Thousand of people have found Brian Murphy's 'contemplation bench' at the Escondido Municipal Gallery. It is the most coveted place to sit in the Gallery. The mixtures of alder and cherry wood as well as the stately form of the bench invite people to sit and enjoy art. They usually ask "Can I sit here?" because Brian's furniture is a beautiful work of art in and of itself.
