The mortise and tenon is used to create Mission, Craftsman, and Prairie style frames. Although there are many types of mortise and tenon joints the two most commonly used to construct frames is the hidden tenon and the through tenon. To secure each frames corner either a round peg or square peg is used. To give a frame some flair and/or uniqueness there are a few options offered on how you can have the pegs appear on your frame. Options such as, pillowed pegs, dual pegs, diagonal, select a different type of wood such as ebony for the pegs. Depending on what you're framing each frame can be built specifically to match your needs such as the orientation of the frame. Pictured is just a couple samples of many types and shapes of mortise and tenon frames. Please visit my site to see more offerings.

For Frame for Ceramic TileI just received the final frame from Jim. It is quite beautiful and well made. The tiles fit perfectly into the frame and the design of the back, will make it easy to install them (or remove them if need be) later. This will make a fine addition to the room where it is destined to hang. Good going Jim! thanks, Jeff

For Carved Adirondack Rustic Picture FrameWow, wow, wow!! This was my first custommade.com purchase. Jim was extremely professional and easy to work with, and the completed frame is absolutely stunning. Every detail down to the hardware was well-crafted and perfect. The frame easily holds its own next to my beautiful antique carved frames and I wouldn't hesitate make another purchase from this craftsperson. I only wish I could afford to re-frame everything in my home!
