Craftsman Tapered Tenon Frame
Frame #2027 This is a Craftsman style frame with tapered sides. The bottom rail is thicker than the top rail to enhance the tapered appearance. Each corner is fastened together using tenon joinery and then there is a choice of the type of corner treatment you want. Pictured here are pillowed square oak pegs which go through the frame to secure each corner. The frame pictured is constructed of quarter sawn oak, finished in Mission Medium. The sides are tapered from the bottom at 2" to 1.5" at the top. The bottom rail is 2" wide and the top rail is 1.5" in width.

All frames are handcrafted from scratch using mostly quarter sawn oak. Other woods are available such as Cherry, Black Walnut, Mahogany, Maple, Beech, and even some exotic woods. I Can make a frame just about any size you might need. Contact me with any questions.

The tiles fit perfectly into the frame and the design of the back, will make it easy to install them (or remove them if need be) later. Every detail down to the hardware was well-crafted and perfect. The frame easily holds its own next to my beautiful antique carved frames and I wouldn't hesitate make another purchase from this craftsperson. I only wish I could afford to re-frame everything in my home!
