Wall clock in American hardwoods with inlaid or parquetry face. The outer ring frame is made of 12 radial segments in cherry, walnut or quarter-sawn white oak. Hour marks are incised in the frame. Metal leaf in brass, copper or silver can be applied to areas of the frame if desired. The metal leaf can then be treated with various patina chemicals to produce a variety of effects. Brass and copper can be deepened from light to deep brown, or various tones of blue-green (verdegris). Silver is treated with liver of sulfur to produce metallic greens, blues, mauves and golds. Two faces are available: The "Radial" face has 12 sections of birds eye or curly maple laid in a "sunburst pattern" with wenge inlays. The Parquetry face has a minute ring on the face, composed of 60 pieces of dark wenge alternating with light maple. The minute ring is set between inner and outer rings of maple burl. (With a white oak frame, white oak is used instead of maple burl, and the entire clock can be deepened in tone by a fumed oak process.) Clock is 11 1/2" in diameter. Larger or smaller sizes may be available Shown on optional stand for shelf/mantle display, but stand is not included. Add $20 for stand. Seiko quartz movement with AA battery.
