For Shaker Drop Leaf TableJim Eddy is a remarkable furniture maker and a remarkable man. He is deeply knowledgeable about the history, form, details and the wood species, the many variables/behavioral characteristics of wood, milling, finishes etc. Jim was instrumental for making design decisions. He dedicated an enormous amount of his time to talk with me about the many details. He worked extremely efficiently, and completed my tables on time, under a very pressured deadline. He managed to do this despite delays that I myself caused when I asked him to pause the process, a couple of times, while we evaluated options for details and finishes. Jim produced samples, mailed them, and kept me up-to-date about all the issues. Always very accessible and thoughtful. The result is a remarkable table, a transformation of the Shaker drop leaf type. The finish and details are stunning. Everyone I have shown it to has found it to be beautiful. I intend to work with Jim again on future furniture projects. He is a rare, extraordinary, genuine artist.

For Nakashima-Inspired Conoid ChairThis project took longer than expected, he did explain what happened to cause this. The chairs packed so well it took me two hours to unpack them, in other words pack perfectly. Once the were in the house at the table thet are so much better than even I expected. I have been to many ACC shows as a craftsman and a buyer and his work is as good as any I have seen. He improved on George Nakashima's design by making it much more comfortable and better proportioned. The finish is exactly the way I discussed. I have had other woodworkers over and they all rave about the design, angles and sheer beauty of his work. If you are patient about time lines; I don't think you can find a better craftsman to build your desired piece.

For Comfort Floor Lamp W/ Translucent Wood ShadeThe final product is very beautiful but the delays were a little bit much. But if time is of no concern then the final result is worth the wait. Thanks.

For Multi Functional Custom Built DeskI had Jim Eddy build me a custom desk for my home office. It had many different seating sections, overhead shelving and custom drawers. He did an exceptional job at building the desk - it is both professionally laid out, very functional and beautifully aesthetic. Jim was very collaborative in the design of the desk - taking the various ideas that I had and incorporating even better ideas to make it exactly the workspace I was looking for. I've had the desk in place now for six months and the quality has held up exceptionally well. I am very pleased with the overall product and with the daily use I enjoy of it The only very slight negative was that the project went quite a bit over the time frame I was looking for because of a previous project he had that was going longer and because my officephysical workspace was very unique (old house with very uneven floors and ceilings) and a little more difficult to work in than he originally planned. Ultimately, I have recommended Jim to other people who have seen my desk and are looking for a project of that quality.

For Office Desk / TableI had to do considerable extra work on the final product in order for the drawers to work properly. I provided the concept drawing and Jim designed the rest. The final product looks fantastic from a small distance. It is in the details of the construction that is disappointing. It has been a little over a year since Jim installed it and I have just recently finished fixing it. After some communication to have Jim complete the project and having him say he would take care of it. I ended up just doing it myself. He never got back with me on this project.

For credenza with bookcase aboveI have never given 5 stars to all aspects of any review, ever. We could not be more pleased with the craftsmanship, professionalism, value, and the overall way in which the project went from design to production and through to installation. Jim was great to work with. The two credenza/bookcase units he produced are simply excellent pieces we'll end up passing on to the children.

For Office Desk / TableWe are very happy that we run into Jim Eddy through Custommade.com. Jim took our desk ideas and transformed them into an excellent working desk. The quality of his wood work and attention to details is perfect. We now have a unique office desk that is spacy, easy to work with and gorgeous. Jim's choice or wood and leather transformed the tradional office desk into a life style statement. We are very grateful to Jim and looking forward to few other projects. By the way, Jim shipped this across the county and with no scratch. Many many thanks Gennady and Masha, Mountain View, CA

For Oak Drop-Arm Morris Chair & FootstoolThe reclaimed, antique Chestnut wood chairs are beautiful and look like Antiques. He went the extra mile to find Organic Hemp for the seat webbing. Design is unique, which is what I wanted, and my cats have approved of them as well.

For Wood clockJim was fantastic to work with. He took great care in listening to the details of our project and offering his own suggestions as well. The design process went very smoothly and we were thrilled with the finished result. Jim does not settle for anything less than perfection and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a unique piece of woodworking.

The frames -- for large paintings -- are beautiful and well constructed. Jim delivered them to our home and installed the paintings with care. Excellent experience all around!

For Victorian BookcasesI chose James Eddy for a bookcase project the included challenges that most other cabinet makers either balked at or refused outright to tackle. After much consultation with Jim, he admitted that he had never tackled anything like this before, but was very interested in handling it. His enthusiasm and obvious talent won me over. I could not have asked for a better job. His craftsmanship and attention to detail was amazing. As it was to be part of a Victorian library, he even included a shelving adjustment design that had been used in a library from the 1800's. No metal pins, all fitted wood, quite amazing. Jim even noticed a rather elaborate design that was carved in the corners of my Queen Anne desk, and hand carved the same design into the bookcase pilasters, rather than just fluting them. All in all I could not be more pleased with the work, and the price was quite reasonable. Jim will soon start another project for me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
