I have been creating traditionally styled roll top desks since 1976. These limited production heirloom roll top desks are custom tailored to the client's needs and wishes. I am a one person shop and produce no more than twelve desks per year. I build them in mahogany, cherry, walnut, quartered white or red oak, plain red or white oak, recycled wormy chestnut, and recycled heart pine.
I have conducted extensive research into the history and development of the roll top desk and have applied many of the origional features as options to the desks I build. These options include: extensive pigeon-hole arrangements, hidden compartments, leather writing surfaces, curved pedestal drawer fronts, swing arms, hand carved pulls, and automatically locking pedestal drawers. More contemporary adaptions available include: computer adaptions, interior lighing and outlets, and ball bearing roller pedestal drawers.
Pricing for the 60" x 35" x 52" plain oak with a basic interior in $5,000.00. Optional widths up to 74" are available in all woods. Other variations available include Arts and Crafts styling, and the glass sided reverse roll Lute model.
