Wine Barrel End Lazy Susan

$149

*** NOTE: Not all barrels have markings, as such, there is an additional premium if you need a top with markings. Simply request it in your message and we'll happily locate one! *** ***Wine Barrel ends are approximately 21 inches in diameter.*** Barrel End Lazy Susan. Built from a select, lovingly reclaimed wine barrel end, gently hand rubbed to soft hue to bring out the natural highlights of fine oak. Each barrel end is carefully disassembled, cleaned and prepped, glued and reassembled. Feel the warmth of aged oak. See the rich purple patina and smell the unmistakable red wine bouquet. What once embraced the fruit of the vine is reclaimed to beautify your home or business in graceful elegance. Update: Added two new photos of a special request lazy susan. Customer will have it painted by an artist, as such no finish or surface rework was applied. I'm anxious to see the finished artwork! Newly added!!! Weathered and grayed finish. This is a chemically induced and sealed graying of the naturally golden oak. Note the dramatic color differences between the lazy susans pictured.

"Let me build you a dream"

Fine woodworker for over 30 years.

Influenced early in life by the craftsmanship and resourcefulness of my Father, my Grandfather and a close neighbor-master-craftsman and access to many tools, it didn’t take long to be bitten by the woodworking bug. I’ve enjoyed challenges in many different aspects of woodworking including creative inlay, abrasive sculpturing, and woodturning, items big and small, working with woods literally from all parts of the world.

Have you ever found or experienced something/anything in life that just makes you say "that's so me!"? That is what wood does for me. I see a chunk of wood; I see what it can be. Others may see firewood. I see the intricate beauty, color, grain, smell, it's life story. I see it's endless possibilities and what it can be!

Hand in hand, I also love to re-use and re-purpose items into new life. Make use of instead of disposing of!!! Something doubly special happens when you take something with a story or history, save it from the landfill or dump, and re-purpose it. You honor the history, you honor who originally designed it, created it, what it was made for, and give it a whole new story with new life and purpose that adds to all that priceless history.

Some of the “strangest” items I’ve been asked to make include wooden guitar picks, some with inlaid designs. I’ve enjoyed the creativity and challenges found in the functional art form of high-end wooden pen turning; the complexity in custom segmented wooden pens of unlimited uniqueness. Some of my work has even been published in Pen World International. Other Entrepreneurial interests landed me a deal making marionettes for Knott’s Berry Farm toy store as early as middle school. One theme rings clear in all the varied challenges I’ve tackled – If you can dream it, I can make it!

Always open to chat if you have ideas, thoughts, questions etc. I'm personally very guilty of creating something "just because I can", so don't worry if you think your idea may not make the best of sense!

After I placed my order, I told Randy what my time-line was - and he responded so well, he got the finished items to me 10 days before my deadline! Really excellent response!

His communication was also excellent - giving me a really good range of items to make my selection from.

Clearly his work is excellent - I really like them, and I'm sure the end recipient will likewise!

They were well packed, and arrived in excellent order.

All in all - this was a superb experience, and I won't hesitate to recommend to others.

    Thank you

Randy did an excellent job and I couldn't be more pleased with what i received. Keeping in mind that he made it by hand, it did take about a month, but I have no qualms with that having seen the quality that time yielded. I got updates throughout the process, too, which was greatly appreciated!

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow ! ! !
If I could give a hundred stars for every aspect of this exchange I would. Randy went so very far in every way. I asked for a specific wood. He had his supplier get it for me. Randy created the very pen I so longed for. He kept in touch the entire time and did a remarkable job in crafting it.

I am 100% thrilled with thhis transaction and definitely recommend him for any of his products.
