Mahogany Home Office With Beam Ceiling

This home office features a paneled fireplace surround. We carved the crest of Princeton University, our client's Alma Mater, on the center panel below the mantle. We did a full coffered ceiling here, but kept the room from feeling to ponderous by wainscoting, rather than completely paneling the walls. The wainscot option also leaves more flexibility in decorating the room later, which is often welcome. Notice how rich the deep red stain looks on the mahogany.
