Mahogany Study With Fireplace

We transformed this study with a mahogany fireplace surround, bookcases, wainscoting, and a coffered beam ceiling. The existing house had a recurring theme of turned Tuscan-style columns. We continued that theme in this room with the columns flanking the fireplace and again in the cabinetry behind the desk. Observe that in this ceiling we didn't panel the spaces between the beams. In situations where the ceiling isn't high, this can help keep the room feeling lighter.
