This artglass was commissioned to obscure the view out of a window by a bath tub. Consultation with the client revealed a love of animals and birds (owner has a cockatiel) and Tiffany style windows. The window has over 4000 pieces, hand painted and silver stained glass. Each piece that was painted was fired in a kiln. The silver stained pieces in the tail ware painted and then over-fired so the silver stain would iridize for the effect on the tail feathers. The pattern was hand drawn and the glass selected to closely represent a Tiffany style window. The glass was copper foiled and soldered. The project took approx. 6 months to complete.
