Dan Joseph Woodworks is owned and operated by wood worker/contractor Dan Joseph. Dan Joseph Woodworks offers design and build services for a wide range of wood furnishings, from meticulously crafted one-of-a-kind furniture to custom cabinetry and finish work for any room in the home or office.
Joseph’s body of work features curved pieces, bent lamination, hammered copper, and veneering in many styles including rustic-elegant, craftsman/Greene and Greene, Tansu, and contemporary. He enjoys working closely with owners, designers, and architects to create heirloom-quality pieces that reflect his clients’ individuality and take design cues from the surrounding architecture.
Joseph has worked with wood for more than 30 years as a furniture maker, finish carpenter, contractor, and avid wood hound. His work is found in some of the finest homes in the Lake Tahoe area. To complement his real-world experience, he trained at the internationally recognized College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking Program under the direction of James Krenov who noted his “quiet, sure sense of direction and skill.” Joseph’s familiarity with his medium is reflected in the cohesion of function, design, and emphasis on the natural beauty of wood in his work. He is influenced by a number of styles and individuals including Krenov, George Nakashima, Greene and Greene, and Ernest Stowe.
