This oiled walnut dining table and red-lacquered chair ensemble was designed to complement the style of the room and vibrant painting in the photo background. A rift-cut walnut veneer was used for the field of the top with solid walnut edging. The hand-carved leaves add just a touch of old world elegance to the knees of the cabriolet legs. The finish is many, many applications of hand-rubbed oil. The red-lacquere chairs are of solid maple with just a hint of Asian influence in the design. This is an example of pieces I've done for architects and designers. In this case, designers Susan Okamoto and Terris Draheim of Seattle commissioned the set.
