I was very excited to see the finished project, Mike has done a couple of projects for me and they always come out beautifully. He is very professional and always makes sure I am happy during all phases of the project

A previous homeowner left a large hole in the granite countertops in our kitchen. I decided to fill it with a custom knife block from Woodworking Plus. Mike did a fantastic job from start to finish. It was easy to develop the custom design I needed in collaboration with him. I sent him photos of the knives and the hole in my counter along with a few dimensions. He created a drawing of the final product which I modified slightly. He then kept me informed of his progress with updates and photos. The final product looks better than I could have imagined with an outstanding finish. The block fits perfectly into the hole and the knives all fit like a glove. The project was a great value considering all the work that went into it.

Mike was fantastic, designing a one of a kind frame and then creating an extraordinarily complex inlaid design on the frame. The project took time to get done right and incorporated a third party to add details Mike felt were best provided by someone other than himself. Our only glitch was broken glass in shipping - which Mike agreed to cover the cost to repair. An excellent experience and great value for a truly unique product.

I found Custom Made completely by accident while looking for sign makers and came across your amazing website.... From the moment I exchanged e-mails with Mike I knew I had selected the right man for the job. His workmanship is beyond what I expected. He sent me photos from the wood he selected, the making of the letters to the sign assembled. The sign arrived right on time and in perfect condition. This was my first project through Custommade.com, and I'm so glad that Mike was the one to build it for me. From the initial contact, through the finished project, I could not be more pleased. The project he made for me is immaculate & totally exceeded my expectations. Perfect marks across the board for Mike - communication, timeliness, quality, price, etc - A++++!

Mike made a custom knife block for us because we could not find one that would hold all of our knives including a butcher's knife. The piece is gorgeous -- zebrawood and cherry with plenty of space for our knife collection. He was a great communicator and sent us a drawing of what our knife block would look like, plus photos of the progress along the way. Would definitely work with this seller again!

I had a great experience working with Mike. He was helpful with planning the project too as I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted. His suggestions made the piece great. He communicated well while he was working on the project with updates and pictures. The project was done on time and arrived when he said it would. The detail in the design is wonderful. I will definitely work with him again.

I saw Mike's intarsia work on CustomMade and I knew right away that this was the perfect container for my beloved dog's ashes. I sent a photo of her, and we had a couple messages back and forth, and the end result is a beautiful box made from 9 different woods, with a perfect likeness of Isis on the front! Mike's a pro. He does great work!

I commissioned Mike Mathieu of Wordworking Plus to build a custom knife block to hold my specific collection of Shun knives. Mike was of great help in choosing the woods, layout, and general design of the block. He kept me up to date with pictures throughout the process, and delivered in a timely manner, ahead of schedule in fact. The knife block itself is a work of art. The woods are beautiful, the finish is amazing, and the craftsmanship is top notch. I would absolutely seek Mike's services for any future custom projects.

Mike is a professional artisan who provided me useful advices before starting. My project as a litter box cover for my cat was finished on time and has been delivered for 3 months. My cat loves it, and so do I because of its well-built quality. Highly recommended as Mike is a fine carpenter.

Mike made a special consideration jewlery box for my granddaughter. I just don't have words to adequately describe how beautiful the item was, it took my breath away when I received it and the pictures he sent while the project was underway were totally eclipsed with the final product. Mike is a true artist with wood and I feel so blessed that I found him on CM. He took my ideas and turned them into something truely unique and hopefully a keepsake for generations. Mike was so easy to work with to fine tune design considerations and to keep me advised of his progress. Would I use him again for any special woodworking projects? You know it!! And I can not provide any recommendation that would do proper justice to his talent. Thank you Mike !!!

I posted a project request on this website for a custom made bee house/hotel that I needed for transporting honey bees. I am so glad Mike answered my request!!! He was so easy to talk to and work with. I was worried I was going to have a hard time describing what exactly it was that I needed built, but I told Mike I had an old bee hotel that a friend had loaned to me so he asked me to send pictures. Mike was very quick at responding back to my request. He discussed the project with me and made some suggestions. The project was finished before his estimated time line. I received it today and I couldn't be happier. It is beautiful, and it exceeded my expectations. He is truly a talented artist and I will definitely be contacting Mike again in the future for future projects.
