Home Office Cabinet And Bookshelves

This built-in cabinet was built for a home office in Burlington, VT. The upper part has exposed adjustable bookshelves which sit on a thick desktop. Beneath this surface, the lower portion of the cupboard has two locking doors, with raised panels, and one open compartment, all with adjustable shelves. There is also a decorative end panel, matching the raised panel doors and decorative beading along the trim and the shelf fronts, made to match existing trim and shelves in the office. The bottom, baseboard trim of the unit is held in place by magnets and can be removed to hide valuables or access the telephone line that has been fished underneath. The unit is made of poplar with a smooth painted finish. We made a 3-D rendering of this project to work out design details.
