Another Asian influenced box, this time using a totally different type of wood that just so happens to come from Asia. Black Palm isn't really a wood, it's a grass, and has all the properties of compressed grass. It comes from a palm tree indigenous to South East Asia, mainly Myanmar (Burma). The wood is extremely difficult to work with as it splinters easily until finished. Hard to work with, but the end result is worth it. The other woods are: Black & White Ebony, Holly and Maple The stringing is holly and is purely decorative; the center ornament is a dice of a red dragon from a roll playing game. To offset the rough texture, this box needed two coats of urethane, 7 coats of hand rubbed oil and three coats of English wax. The size is 10.5" x 6" x 4.5"

After years of being an art director for magazines and advertising agencies, my passion has evolved from beautiful print work to beautiful woodwork.
I have become a creator of "one-of-a-kind" Gallery Quality Jewelry Boxes that I believe are more akin to functional art than just a container to hold jewelry.
All my boxes are made using unique grained, imported wood along with brass or stainless steel details, all drawers or trays lined with leather or suede and occasionally, semi-precious gemstones.
Sometimes, hours are spending deciding which woods work together best. From the eyes of a perfectionist, my boxes do not work unless I feel the wood is the perfect choice.
I feel that the best results are achieved by the needs of what I want a specific boxes’ character or personality to be.
It's my belief that each box must reflect my enjoyment in its creation and that this same feeling has to be passed on the final owner.
A guide to the best items from the best makers and the stories behind them.

For Custom BoxThe box is absolutely beautiful! Bruce is lovely to work with. He was able to listen to what I wanted then was able to use his expertise to create a very striking memorial box for my dog's ashes. From exotic wood selection to size dimensions, Bruce guided us through the best looking options and was honest and direct when we were leaning towards things that wouldn't look good. I appreciate how easy it was to trust Bruce's aesthetic style and talent rather than having to research and worry about every detail myself. I've had bad past experiences with people who depended on me, the novice customer, to make every decision and it was quite stressful. Bruce is a professional and he was able to interpret my vision into a work of art to remember a very special member of our family. Thank you!

For Walnut And Cherry Beveled Valet BoxI was a bit hesitant doing this for the first time, especially since this was for a wedding present for my bride-to-be. I immediately knew Bruce was the right match for me - his introductory email was incredibly detailed and more importantly PASSIONATE. The process was so seamless and easy with Bruce. He was very responsive, very creating and always willing to accommodate any of my asks. He really loves what he does and you can see it in the finished work product. I don't know what else to say besides it turned out even better than I could have hoped. He used so many unique woods that all came together perfectly. It would be impossible to tell this apart from any other masterfully crafted piece of work / art. Finally, he incurred additional costs on his side after the price was agreed upon to ensure the box was top notch and met his own personal quality standard. I would recommend him to anyone and will certainly use his services again. Thanks Bruce!
