Laurie's Secret
This was made for a birthday present and it just had to contain a secret compartment. The false bottom (shelf) is hidden by a lower tray and even then, you must know to pull up on a very short tab to open the top of the secret compartment, which is held closed by a magnet. The box is make of Quilted Maple, with legs and top made out of Bloodwood. Brass rods are imbedded into the body and a "Tree of Life" ornament into the top. All inside flat surfaces are chocolate colored suede.

After years of being an art director for magazines and advertising agencies, my passion has evolved from beautiful print work to beautiful woodwork.
I have become a creator of "one-of-a-kind" Gallery Quality Jewelry Boxes that I believe are more akin to functional art than just a container to hold jewelry.
All my boxes are made using unique grained, imported wood along with brass or stainless steel details, all drawers or trays lined with leather or suede and occasionally, semi-precious gemstones.
Sometimes, hours are spending deciding which woods work together best. From the eyes of a perfectionist, my boxes do not work unless I feel the wood is the perfect choice.
I feel that the best results are achieved by the needs of what I want a specific boxes’ character or personality to be.
It's my belief that each box must reflect my enjoyment in its creation and that this same feeling has to be passed on the final owner.

For Walnut And Cherry Beveled Valet Box5.0I was a bit hesitant doing this for the first time, especially since this was for a wedding present for my bride-to-be.
