Reconstituted Dining Table
Pieced together from scraps of desktops and table tops salvaged from closed Chicago public schools, this table is at once a functional piece, and a historical document. It serves as an example of other possible pieces that can be reconstituted out of leftover materials from other sources.

Dilettante Studios (DS) is a small, full-service design/build studio specializing in hand-crafted furniture, cabinets, carpentry, built-ins, environments, installations and art fabrication, using primarily found, inherited, re-purposed and salvaged materials. We also work with virgin materials when necessary, but do our best to go second-hand whenever possible, as both a principle and an invited opportunity for adaptive design.
