Barn Wood Bookcase

Barn Wood Bookcase

This bookcase was inspired by my 1912 Tennessee cabin after a large hickory tree fell through the roof revealing the beadboard ceiling that had been previously been hidden by sheetrock. Around the same time, a friend gave me some wide oak planks from an old farmhouse he was demolishing. I think the two went together nicely. These one of a kind creations are what makes my job so much fun.

I am a lifelong Carpenter/Woodworker/Craftsman focusing on practical solutions for real people using time-honored traditional methods. I have enjoyed an interesting and varied career which has included residential construction, marine construction, varied beach and riverfront dock and deck projects, high end interior trim and mill work installation, stair and balustrade design and installation, and custom built-in design and fabrication. I even had a brief but interesting stint as a set carpenter on a major Hollywood motion picture. I am currently specializing in the design and creation of tables and other furnishings using reclaimed woods and locally milled lumber. If this varied portfolio sparks your interest with other possibilities, I'm interested in hearing your ideas!
