Darrin is great! He provided me with great ideas and and possible alternatives in wood. The option I ended up selected looks FABULOUS! The packaging for the table is amazing! There was no damage whatsoever to the table -- I don't think there could have been unless the box was crushed! :-) I am extremely pleased with my purchase and how it turned out. Darrin, thank you so very much for a splendid job!

Consider this a rave review. Five stars plus. Darrin was especially easy to work with, he took his time in answering my questions and always made himself readily available. I chose to work with him based on photographs that were posted and that he sent of previous work and after speaking together I knew that he understood exactly what I was looking for. The craftsmanship of these pieces is beyond what I had expected, and believe me I had high expectations. Darrin created a writing desk with matching night stands out of walnut with contrasting sections done in Curley Maple with hand made drawer pulls. They are beautiful pieces of art that I will enjoy for many years. Thank you, Darrin!

Beautiful pieces of furniture. Our custom pieces are a nice addition to our sitting area. The wood selection is really special.

The craftsmanship was excellent.

Darrin did a fabulous job on our project. He brings passion to woodworking and a “good ear”, which other reviewers had pointed out too. We were grateful that he considered how we would be using our pantry, and he included a way to anchor it, as well as a top piece that would make the piece easier to clean and offer a place for knick-knacks. We received mostly weekly updates with pictures, and found additional updates on Facebook. We would highly recommend Darrin for any of your project needs. We hope to hire him again too!

Let's get one thing out of the way - the table is beautiful. You hope it will turn out that way, but when you base a decision on a small picture of something that is kind of like what you want (but what you want is something very different) in the beginning all you have is hope. That's how it started with me. I saw a picture of a chess table that Darrin had made. It looked nice, but I needed something larger and with the board portion made of different materials. Before I really knew about his craftsmanship I already felt comfortable with the decision to go with Darrin because he listened. It wasn't how he had made a chess table before, but it was what I wanted. With photo updates along the way Darrin could show me that my choice worked (and that he might use these materials again for other clients). The table was packed in a way that it could have made it unscathed if it was drop shipped to a war zone. When I got the table the only surprise was how cool the table really was. It's everything I wanted. I'm very pleased that I worked with Darrin on this. He did a fantastic job.

Darrin crafted a gorgeous Arts and Crafts-style console table that I gave to my husband as a Christmas present. The craftsmanship is utterly sublime -- it is absolutely perfect. The joinery and finish are silky smooth and flawless. The table looks as though it was made by Berkeley Mills, from whose pieces I drew inspiration in communicating to Darrin what I wanted. As for communication, Darrin "listened" attentively to what I wanted and asked me a number of questions aimed at ensuring I would be satisfied. He left nothing to chance. When the piece arrived at my house, I was seriously impressed at the extreme care with which it had been packaged for transport, which included being wrapped in a moving blanket and plastic moving wrap and then placed in a sturdy box that had been reinforced on all sides with rigid panels and styrofoam. It's reassuring to know that fine wood artisans like Darrin are still around and making the world a bit more beautiful with each of their creations. I highly and enthusiastically recommend Darrin to anyone looking for fine wood craftsmanship, and I plan to use him again myself in the future.

This table base was exactly as requested. It is beautiful!. I would have provided a five star rating for all categories, but the delivery was several weeks later than the original date provided because the shipper was not available at that time. I would have cost several hundred dollars more to deliver with another delivery service. I was not in a hurry to receive the table and so did not mind. The communicaiton from this craftsman was excellent. This is the second item ordered from the craftsman and I have been very pleased with both items. !

I couldn't be happier! Darrin was a pleasure. I described what I wanted and, in two or three emails, he had set to paper exactly what I had in mind. I was able to watch the process since Darrin sent pics at different stages of development. He drove the completed table to my house when he said he would (despite there having been a blizzard the preceding day), set it up, gave me detailed information on how to care for it, and was extremely generous in offering to change/fix whatever didn't suit me. Unnecessary, since the piece is gorgeous! For a big guy, he has quite a gentle touch in his woodworking!

This craftsman was very informative throughout the entire process. He often forwarded pictures showing the progress. The product was PERFECT. He missed his deadline by a few days, but this was ok because I was not in a rush to receive this. The table was packed perfectly and arrived quickly. LOVE the table and would highly recommend this craftsman.
