This solid walnut oval conference table was commissioned by a CPA firm and intended for an informal conference room. The top is made from wide planks that came from a single walnut tree. The uniquely shaped trestle leg structure enhances legroom for meeting participants. The covers for the four trestle bolts are real silver dollars in keeping with the financial nature of the business!

Welcome! I am the owner, operator, designer, sawdust maker and everything else including janitor of this little specialty woodworking business. After a career in the business world, I am now following a passion to create works in and of wood. My goal is to deliver to you, my customer, projects that are done right, meeting (hopefully exceeding) your quality expectations. I began my business in 2008 under the name: North Texas Woodworks. I designed and built tables for kitchens and dining rooms, bookshelves, cabinets and several other furniture items. In late 2014 I had bilateral knee replacement surgery that could have gone better! I was sidelined for about 3 years, but got back to sawdust making in 2018.
Changed the product focus to somewhat smaller items including the lighted "Stream Tables" sized for sofa tables and entry halls. With the change came a different name: Beraht, LLC. Beraht is a German word that can mean bright as well as Bert. Seemed like a perfect fit for lighted tables made by a guy named Bert! Beginning in 2024 I have added parametric wall art to my offerings, both standard designs as well as custom and personalized options. Be sure to check out my custom parametric flags!
I own two large format Computer Numerical Control (CNC) router systems and cut and carve special shapes and designs for individuals and for businesses. I can carve images and text in wood to create signs for your business, decor for your home, and gifts for your friends and family. With this automation, orders can be for an individual or for many repetitive items. Examples of past work include things as different as a carved applique for an antique sewing machine, signs, plaques, countless styles and shapes of art boards for paint and epoxy artists, and even ornate carved panels for residential and business doors.
Let me know how I can use my sawdust making skill to be of service to you.

For Individual ShelvesThe shelves have all the options we wanted: beautiful wood in a crisp white finish, end stops and back tabs to hold the media in check (so it doesn't fall over or touch the wall), just the right width and depth with decorative front panel, sturdy construction, and easy installation on our part.
Bert does great work! What more can I say?

For TableWe are extremely happy with the finished custom table. Bert communicated with us through the entire project and even changed some details when an issue came up of the safety of our children and the pedestal base. We would recommend him to anyone who wants a great quality and professionally built solid piece of furniture.

For Plaque from a movie (The emperor's club)Bert did an excellent job making a very personal gift for a family friend. He recreated the plaque seen in the movie The Emperor's Club…he even watched the movie to understand the significance of the plaque and to check for spelling/appearance details. I was thoroughly impressed by his craftsmanship, and the plaque recipient said it was by far the most special and unique personalized gift that anyone had ever given him. I have already recommended North Texas Wood Works to friends and plan to continue to do so in the future! Thanks Bert!
