Most Challenging Project

$8,500+
4.9(3 reviews)

This project was the most challenging, not only because of it's massive size (13' x 7') but because the client wanted curio cabinets incorporated in the the design using the curved glass from two antique doors that they had. So, the radius of the glass had to be the key factor in designing this whole project. After several designs, this was the one that satisfied function and style. Because of the fragility of the old glass, earth magnets were used to gently hold the curio doors closed instead of mechanical latches. In addition, the design gives the unit a built-in appearance, but actually is not attached to the structure in any way, just a snug fit, to allow for freeedom of movement; the sheer weight holds it in place. Mirrors mounted on the backs of the curios, along with soft lighting and adjustable glass shelves complete the package. Accent lighting on the top of the unit add warmth to the room , conveniently controlled by a wall switch.

Owner/Operator, I work with Homeowners & Interior Designers to create unique furniture that solves a space and function issue as it relates to an interior design. Specialties include reproductions, designing matching furniture to a dicontinued furniture line, built-ins that match styles, profiles and colors already existing in a particular space or room. In addition, the use of aged or carefully salvaged wood, utilizing its fine patina to create an antique look , is available to any style.

Ken was great to work with. He understood the project and went the extra mile to clarify points that needed explaining. He was very flexible when I needed to make changes to the design, and he delivered on time. The workmanship on his product was fantastic - superior to much that I've seen from others. Great value for the work, and I look forward to working with him in the future.

Our experience working with Ken was fantastic. He was with us every step of the way. Our home was built in 1850, and we wanted to our built-ins in the bedroom to look as if they had always been part of the house - they came out exactly as we had hoped.

Ken, did a great job on extending the table with new rails and refinishing 12 chairs and the table edge. We had a great experience working with Ken.
