This runner was commissioned by a client in San Francisco and resides in a hallway in a "railroad car" style flat in a lovely Victorian. The interior design is based on floor patterns found in The Isaac Buck House in Hanover, Massachusetts, circa 1800. The border pattern is from the historic Elihu Emerson House in Norwich, Vermont - this pattern was painted above the fireplace mantel. The colors used in the rug are Buena Vista Gold for the background, Provincial Beige and Rich Gold for the center motif and Rich Gold and Buena Vista Gold for the border bands.
