Garrett Brooks graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 2005 with a BA in Furniture Design. In 2008 he established his own studio, Goodwood Design,since then he has been designing and building one-off commissions for private collectors.

The name "Goodwood Design" was chosen from the simple idea that wood is a good natural resource that should be used to make good objects, designed well and built well, so they can be enjoyed for generations.

I'm completely satisfied with the end result of this project. It started with a picture found online and sent to Garrett as a reference point and the bookcase ended up being as spot on as I could've hoped for.

Garrett was very responsive to my questions. The finished bed is really beautiful. There are many lovely details in the design that were not obvious in the drawings. The bed combines artistry and function skillfully. I could not be more pleased with the process and the final product.

I'm thrilled with the gorgeous walnut desk Garrett at Goodwood Design made for me. Garrett enjoys designing furniture, and collaboration with him greatly improved the design of my desk. He is highly responsive, almost always getting back to me in less than a day in over a hundred email exchanges. He did a good job keeping track of the myriad design changes, drew the final product (as well as intermediate designs) in a CAD program, and executed it exactly as planned. He did a good job communicating, asking me for confirmation whenever there was an important design detail to be decided, down to the diameter of the finger holes in the doors. His price was also the most competitive of the bidders for my job, and I love his design aesthetic -- modern with clean lines and great respect for the natural beauty of wood. I highly recommend him and would definitely work with him again.
