Atticus Desk In Mahogany / 40'S Retro

This desk was custom designed to compliment an existing piece from the period. Made from laminated and solid Mahogany, I focused on the bones and function of the desk and then looked at details. The trim is custom CNC cut and made from thin pieces so that it could be wrapped around the curved front of the desk. Two pull out work trays on both sides add about 4 square feet of extra work area when the huge 74" x 33" top is not enough, and your work flow needs just a little nick more. Great for lunch too! About the Designs~

Ron Corl creates his luxury furniture brand by combining modern, artistic design with the care of the Amish craftsman that hand build every piece. His designs span your lifestyle through all the transitions life throws at you!

Although the brand has grown too large for Ron to build every piece himself, he is still hands-on with every client project from start to finish and beyond. He personally makes sure the same quality and care go into every piece, whether it's a pet bed for your Fluffy, or cabinets for one of the best luxury hotels around the world. Designed for people who love their nest and aren't afraid to fly ahead of the flock. Ron calls his style "Lifestyle Amplified"™
Ron has clients over the world ~ all across the US & Canada, and all the way to South Korea and China.

About the Designer~

Ron Corl has been designing and building since he was a baby. "I remember stacking big wooden blocks in kindergarten and trying to understand how far I could push them off-center before they would fall. I've never stopped pushing those blocks as far as I can! My motto is- "If you never build a box around yourself in the first place, you'll never need to think outside of it"!
His pieces don't blend in with your room - they are the anchor point and you design your room around them!

He designed and hand-built a tiny cottage on his 30 acre Ohio tree farm. This proves there can be comfortable living in 500 square feet or less. He Now lives in a small Cape with his artist wife, Susan, and a spoiled cat, Sophi.

    For small vanity table
    5.0

Working with Ron Corl at Ron Corl Designs was an incredible experience. Based on a variety of personal preferences, Ron created a breath taking custom-made dressing table and wrap-around we call Falling Leaf Vanity. It was specifically made to fit in a very cozy corner of my master dressing room. Throughout every step of the design process, Ron was available 24-7, even surprising me by responding to emails sent very late at night. The man is indefatigable! From my general ideas, thoughts and preferences, he incorporated his own modern style to create a gorgeous, yet highly functional work of art. Despite my diverse style preferences, he managed to blend art nouveau with shaker (Ron coins it "Shaker Nouveau"). The end result was a curvy, feminine, yet simple, elegant, and functional dressing table that incorporated aspects of nature with a twist of glam. The final piece was custom designed to the millimeter to fit a very tricky corner space in my dressing room and yet had to contain all my necessary "beauty tools" and jewelry. It had to fit absolutely perfectly, and Ron managed to accomplish this via emails and pictures sent from way out of state. His emails were so clear, detailed and understandable we never even spoke until after delivery, although he always offered to call if needed! He actually looked at measurements of my hair dryer to make sure his drawers would be built to contain it properly. A variety of natural and rare woods from curly cherry to African bloodwood, zebra wood and leopard wood and others were used to create an autumnal falling leaf motif that reminded me of my "Autumn in Vermont" wedding theme, complete with circular beveled mirror (that resembles a rising sun to me) and custom drawers on the main table and wrap-around. The delicate leaf inlays were nothing short of perfect. The rich stains and decadent finishes of the wood varietals dance and interact perfectly to create an environment that almost comes alive, rather than functioning simply as a piece of furniture. I can't stop running my hands across the perfectly finished wood which to me feels like velvet. Ron painstaking incorporates his clients' thoughts and then adds his own flare to make his pieces come alive. I have never worked with a better designer - EVER!!! Not only is he a super-nice human being, Ron is uber-responsive, meticulous, dedicated, patient with changes, honest and amazingly talented. He simply pours his soul into every piece like his life depended on it. His positive energy is reflected in the piece itself. Ron's multiple 3-D computer renditions made envisioning the final product a snap. Even before shipment he made sure I was 100% satisfied with his design by sending u-tube videos throughout production. Then when the vanity arrived in perfect condition from Ohio to Philadelphia through a highly recommended shipper, I was dumbfounded at how even more incredible and stunning it looked in person. Early on Ron had sent abundant wood samples, stain options, colors, drawings, 3-D renditions and u-tube videos of different design aspects throughout every step of the process, even on national holidays. He patiently did this until I was satisfied I was making the right choices. Not once did he complain when I couldn't decide among the beautiful options he made available. Nothing was sacrificed and the quality and design could not be better. I could not have asked for a more perfect and enjoyable custom made design experience. I would highly recommend Ron Corl at Ron Corl Designs over and over again as a designer to anyone looking for an artistically unique furniture piece whose unparalleled beauty and quality comes alive in your home. I started out just needing a make-up table, but realize now that this table will, in fact, be a valuable family heirloom for generations. Hence, this investment was worth every penny. I thank Ron Corl so much for his tireless effort in this process! My Falling Leaf Vanity fills me with joy each time I sit down in front of it.

I cannot recommend Corl Design Ltd highly enough. They were a dream to work with -- very responsive and professional. The stools they made for my clients were super sturdy and comfortable and look amazing in their Nantucket kitchen. Even better, they arrived ahead of schedule. I will definitely work with them again on future projects.

From start to finish Ron Corl was a pleasure to work with. When I put the job up on CustomMade I got a lot of responses saying "Sounds great, let's get in touch and talk" "I'm interested give me a call" etc. Ron emailed me with design ideas right off the bat based on the brief I posted, and they required exactly 0 revisions. Everything I wanted from a technical standpoint was included, and aesthetically it was better than I could imagine.

The construction of the final product is top notch. 3 desks in total and the table tops align perfectly and the sizing is perfect (which is important since they are custom to the room.

On a personal level Ron is great work with. He's a "worker" like me. Throughout the process I was up late nights and thought of a question, sure enough, Ron was up working as well to answer. It's nice to see people passionate about their work and pulling those extra hours to make everything perfect.

Would I use Ron Corl again? I already am. We are in the process of doing a coffee table for our rec room.

I wish I needed more!! Working with Ron & Sue was easy from the very first inquiry. Very responsive, attentive and just all around pleasant to deal with (it was obvious that their customer's matter to them). Every detail was discussed (seat size, stain color, wood choice, type of finish on the legs, etc.) and the finished product was exactly as I had envisioned. The level of skill and craftsmanship is obvious and I wouldn't hesitant to recommend Ron for any custom item, as I believe it would turn out great!
