Wrought Iron Stair And Bridge Railing
These railings were part of an extensive renovation that transformed a stark and relatively bland house into a richly detailed and comfortable home. My role was to replace an overly formal wooden railing with a heavily forged iron railing that while maintaining some formality would visually add some mass and help ground the decor.

Rising Sun Forge is a custom ironwork studio focusing primarily on the architectural market. Since 1989 I have been producing a wide range of products including gates,railings,furniture,custom lighting, sculpture, fireplace screens and accessories. I have worked extensively with architects, interior decorators, lighting designers, contractors and homeowners to create work that not only fulfills its basic function but enhances and integrates well with the overall design scheme.
In addition to traditional wrought ironwork I have studied a wide variety of design styles including Japanese, Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, as well as individual styles such as Greene and Greene,Frank Lloyd Wright, and Charles Rennie McIntosh.
