Mbr Fire Screen
This was the third in a series of highly decorated fireplace surrounds and screens I made for a particular client. In this case I turned primarily to the work of Samuel Yellin for inspiration. The applied floral elements are more fully three dimensional and were created with a combination of techniques, including forge welding, hot and cold chasing, and riveted layers. Having the fire screen portion of the surround be a single panel door leaves an unobstructed view of the fire yet allows full access when tending the fire.

Rising Sun Forge is a custom ironwork studio focusing primarily on the architectural market. Since 1989 I have been producing a wide range of products including gates,railings,furniture,custom lighting, sculpture, fireplace screens and accessories.
