The subject matter was inspired by nature, but its manefistation is in fantasy. This "Organism" was hand-sculpted, and borrows textures from several real sea creatures. This piece is made with a technique we call "reverse casting" in which the viewer sees a flat glass surface on the front with the detailed sculpting pressing in from the back. The sculpted area creates negative space (instead of bas relief), thus the term "reverse cast." This particular piece was framed with mirror behind the crystal which adds to the luminosity and dimensionality of the sculpting. The crystal itself is a transparent appricot color.

Hibri Designs is a premier art glass studio specializing in cast glass sculpture, and sandblasted wall pieces. We also cast acrylic, urethane, silicone, and permastone.
At our core we are sculptors and designers. Often inspired by nature, our work manifests this inspiration through abstraction and fantasy.
Our work ranges from 3D sculptures, to bas relief wall pieces, jewelry, and functional art.
Our work provides a momentary meditation as the eye passes over bubbles and colors frozen in time. Through this, we freeze grace. We make the moment ornate.
In addition to their constant research and development, both Hilal and Kati Hibri have studied at Pilchuck Glass School in Washington state for several summers.
