Personalized Wood Cutting Board With Engraving
This listing is for a solid Walnut and Maple edge grain cutting board. Maple is a dense, domestic hardwood species that pairs beautifully with the rich chocolate color of walnut. Together these woods create a cutting surface that would make a great addition to any kitchen. Edge grain cutting boards are manufactured so the edge of the wood board is used as the cutting surface. This makes for a more durable product. With the addition of a personalized laser engraving, this cutting board would make a great wedding, birthday, retirement or anniversary gift. All Clark Wood Creations cutting boards are 100% handcrafted in my small woodworking shop in the Chattanooga, TN area. I make all cutting boards using high quality, hand selected hardwoods, I assemble them with FDA approved glue and I seal them with a food safe mixture of mineral oil and beeswax. Rubber feet are attached to the bottom to prevent the cutting board from slipping during use. Each cutting board is wrapped for presentation and shipped with a brochure that outlines the best practices for caring for your investment and a board cream to condition the cutting surface for optimal longevity. Our small woodworking company started when we bought our first home over a decade ago and were doing standard small home renovations ourselves. At that time most of what I knew was taught by my grandfather who was a contractor and built small homes, decks, additions, renovations, etc.
Once most of the major renovations were done in our home, my transition to building custom furniture began. I'm completely self-taught in fine woodworking; I've read countless books and magazines, attended classes and workshops, watched videos, listened to podcasts and have had lots of practice. As with most small businesses, our friends and family were requesting that I create pieces for their homes and this led to more practice and eventually building commission pieces for the general public.
That's where we are today… Located in the greater Chattanooga, TN area specializing in designing and manufacturing custom, handcrafted, heirloom pieces of furniture.
Most of the furniture pieces that are made by us are designed per the client's specifications. Most of the time the design process begins with an inspirational photo or photos of design(s) or style(s) you like. Once I have an idea of the piece, a 3-dimensional drawing is generated in a CAD program to help refine specific design details and features.

For Custom Kitchen Cutting Board4.8We had a very positive experience working with Lucas Clark and would happily do so again.
We had a cutting board built into our kitchen cabinets which over the years had become very, very worn. I provided Lucas with the specifications and dimension of the cutting board. He recommended maple as the cutting surface. His communications were very prompt and he provided a very detailed drawing of the proposed board. We agreed to go forward and were given an estimated completion date which was about 30 days out. We did not hear from Lucas for almost 3 weeks and then learned that the board was completed and ready to ship. Fedex took a week to deliver the board, but it arrived very well packed and without damage. My wife is thrilled with her new cutting board! It looks beautiful, matched the specifications, and is very well crafted. It will get many years of daily use in our kitchen.
