"Lamb Of God" Church Window

$3,600

Dedicated to the memory of a deceased congregation elder, this church nave window depicts an ancient symbol of Christ, the Lamb of God. It shows a regal lamb risen from death to deliver victory to all who follow him. A golden halo sets off his head and purple, the color of royalty and passion, surrounds him. The window is made entirely of German mouth-blown glass except for the cross. In order to make the central Christian symbol visible when the church is used at night with interior lighting and no sunlight, the cross is of opalescent glass, specifically a neodymium colored, hand-poured glass. All the other glass is mouth-blown ("antique") glass, which is transparent and has striations and/or bubbles that add to its dynamism. Most of the lamb's body is made of clear reamy glass, a special mouth-blown glass with irregular bubbles seemingly suspended in flowing streams of glass. The window is constructed using traditional lead came techniques.

We are a husband-wife team who design and create stained glass windows, artful stained glass objects, and functional fused glass for homes, businesses, and public spaces. For more than thirty-five years we have been creating windows, glass panels, and light fixtures tailored to specific sites. Now we also offer kiln-formed glass. We love working with mouth-blown and handmade glass because of its rich beauty, and our delight in the glass is shown through innovative design and excellent fabrication in lead and copper foil techniques as well as fusing and slumping.

Whether you desire an architectural installation, accessories like a lamp or light vessel, a piece of stained glass art for your personal collection, colorful tableware, or a very special gift, we can create something original. Client needs and interests are central to our design and fabrication process. While it is advantageous to discuss a window project before new construction, we also fabricate to fit existing windows.
