This door was made of Honduras Mahogany, and reclaimed old-growth redwood. It was built as a collaborative project with Mendocino Doors. The vacuum-pressed Redwood plywood panels ensure that the pierced carving will be stable and robust. All carving is done by hand with traditional carving chisels.

A third generation woodworker, I am carrying on the tradition of my grandfather, Charles M. Sayers author of the "The Book of Woodcarving". All carving is executed using traditional carving chisels.
My work includes a wide variety of furniture and architectural pieces as well as carved redwood outdoor furniture and other pieces for the garden.
