This was my first designed and constructed piece and was inspired by the works of James Krenov. It was made of curly book matched black cherry with a curly maple accent. The top is two book matched cherry boards and the rest of the wood was hand selected for placement of interesting grain. For example the "Rose Bud" in the middle of the front stretcher. The finish consists of multiple coats of oil and buffed with wax to a satin finish. This table has been placed in multiple shows in the WIsconsin Area. It was eventually given to my brother as a wedding gift and has been with them ever since.
