This chair is a reproduction of a piece in the Kaufmann Collection. I refined the design and built it as a student at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, MA. The upholstery was done by Joseph Karagezian of Pioneer Upholstery in Peabody, MA. It is traditionally upholstered using webbing, tacks, burlap, horse hair, cotton, and muslin. I chose a silk and cotton damask as the fabric.

I create custom furniture to meet a client's individual needs. My personal work leans toward the modern, but I am trained in antique reproductions. This enables me to reproduce, draw inspiration from existing pieces, and to design from scratch.

For Molded Plywood Stool/ChairEli was a fantastic individual to work with on this project. He was always in contact and updating me on the progress. I was able to to see the piece as he moved through the various stages (making formwork, basic finishing, etc etc). He shared my enthusiasm and definitely made the whole process more enjoyable while creating a great prototype that I'm very happy with.
