A mobile-kinetic bookcase commissioned by the Henley Middle School in Crozet, VA. Designed to draw attention to the newest book arrivals in the school library. Hornet mascot spins on vertical axis when rear propeller is turned. Made of birch, curly maple, colorwood wheels, paper-mache, steel gears and paint. Dimensions : 74" h. 72" w. 24' d.

Since 1978 , I have designed and made furniture and functional objects , mostly made of wood , usually one-of a-kind or in very limited editions . While many of my projects posted on CustomMade have a lighthearted and whimsical flavor , I have also built many pieces in traditional styles too . I use the best materials and construction methods in every piece , then apply durable finishes to withstand everyday use . I often work with designers and directly with clients to create a unique piece to fill a particular need or space in their home or office. I love to collaborate!
