Jane's Chestnut Console
A custommade hall table made from the clients own reclaimed , wormy chestnut lumber , taken from a dimantled 1840s tobacco barn on the family property in Virginia. This table is part of a group of 8 individual furniture pieces created as gifts for each of Jane's children and grandchildren . This design was inspired by an antique french market table . A small engraved plaque was affixed to each furniture piece bearing the recipiants name ,date and the legacy origin of the wood . Table is 35" high 62" long 15" deep

Since 1978 , I have designed and made furniture and functional objects , mostly made of wood , usually one-of a-kind or in very limited editions . While many of my projects posted on CustomMade have a lighthearted and whimsical flavor , I have also built many pieces in traditional styles too . I use the best materials and construction methods in every piece , then apply durable finishes to withstand everyday use . I often work with designers and directly with clients to create a unique piece to fill a particular need or space in their home or office. I love to collaborate!
