Paradise In Blues Reverse Painted Glass Chandelier

$3,200

Paradise in Blues on one of 3 commissioned painted chandeliers that hang in a home overlooking a bay. My clients wanted blue themes with green and birds. This is a 24 inch diameter glass chandelier. I pained all three chandeliers one right after the other to make sure that the colors matched. All of the themes, though they incorporated birds, were different. This one piece had African birds and that was a request from my clients to remind them of their South Africa trip.

Jenny Floravita was born to be an artist. She began her studies in painting, drawing, music and dance as a small child, excelling in all. Her life in the San Francisco Bay Area afforded her great exposure to the arts.

Jenny won numerous awards as a young artist including four California Governor’s Medallions and four California State Seals, two each for art and dance. After receiving several scholarships, Jenny went on to study and receive her formal art degree through University of California, Santa Cruz. She lived and worked in Santa Cruz as a graphic designer and fine art painter for several years before re-locating to her family’s home town in the Delta half way between San Francisco and Sacramento.

Since 2000, Jenny Floravita’s fine art career has blossomed. She has exhibited in numerous galleries and high-end art festivals. She paints island scenes and tropical flowers in both oil and watercolor that are inspired by her garden and her travels through the tropics. Jenny’s journey in the fascinating art of reverse glass painting began in the early summer of 2007 and since then she has added her beautiful custom reverse painted glass chandeliers to her well collected line of oil and watercolor paintings.

The lovely transparent nature of glass makes for a highly complex and expressive canvas in which she is able to infuse movement into every brush stroke. Exotic flowers and birds are a favorite subject because they bring the sounds, smells and sights from Floravita's travels through warm lands into each of of her illuminated painted glass creations. She uses her hand-created glass bowls as her canvas and the resulting illuminated paintings are like a glimpse into another world.

Floravita's special painting technique makes her flowers and leaves look as if they will pop right out of the glass. There is an amazing 3-dimensional effect to her glass paintings that captivates viewers and makes them feel as if they have a blooming flower garden that is ready to burst out of the glass at any moment. Every time you look at her illuminated painted glass gardens, you will see something new.

Jenny Floravita's iron fixtures are all hand-forged and custom to the glass bowls that she creates——they are not mass produced fixtures that you see in big box stores. Her iron fixtures are simple and elegant. Each painted chandelier comes ready to install. Custom commissions are welcome.
