I am an independent artist/artisan working exclusively in reclaimed, recycled, upcycled and found materials.

i make the useless useful again. i make worthless things priceless.

from conception, to making it to sweeping up, i am a one-man operation - by design.

my work is not for everyone. my customers are people who want truly unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that are made fairly and ethically from locally salvaged materials - with as small a footprint as i can muster.

i will make and ship things all over the united states (depending on size) but i prefer to work regionally (Boston to NYC and thereabouts).

listed on this page are some pieces i've made for others and some pieces i have available for sale. but what i really want to do is design and make what YOU want. let's do it!

    Tim Sway is better than great. He made a monolith of a coffee table from 200+ years old reclaimed chestnut. It is so beautiful and so fantastic, my husband and I are thrilled. Tim is incredibly thoughtful about using reclaimed wood and communicates every step of the way to keep you in the loop. If everybody worked this way! :)
    I highly recommend Tim to work some magic in creative, custom-made furniture. You will not be disappointed. Seriously. MH

    I honestly can't say enough about what a pleasure it was to work with Tim on this project. He is a truly gifted Maker, an artist in fact. Perhaps more importantly, he is a really good guy who takes the time and makes the effort to document and communicate the many steps that go into completing your project. He's got a great sense of humor and is a pleasure to work with. I'm currently brainstorming a new project that I probably don't "need" just so I can work with Tim again.

    We asked Tim to design a bar cart for us and he did a fantastic job. We gave him a budget and he came up with a great design for our cart. This included a sweet set of wheels made from old water valves. Tim was very responsive and helpful throughout the process, and if we need something else made we will be going back to Tim.
