Rustic Bowl And Vessel
We are pleased to present "Rustic" Bowl and Closed Vessel. Each piece is turned from a reclaimed spalted hickory log. Originally headed for the burn pile, the hickory blanks were harvested and held in plastic bags for 3 months in our Florida shop. Turned wet each piece was allowed to dry naturally and then prepared for finishing. Instead of the usual smooth glossy finish each piece was bleached and then sand blasted to complement the rustic appearance. The bowl is over 10 inches in diameter and about 3 - 4 inches in height. The closed vessel is a maximum of 4 - 5 inches in diameter and about 6 inches tall. Currently the pieces are on display and for sale at Artworks Gallery in Chestertown Maryland
