The Wooden Quill is pleased to present a turned Beechwood vessel with a "flower frog" insert. The vessel itself is hand turned from wood obtained when a 30" branch of a more than 200 year old beechnut tree came down in a thunderstorm in June of 2008. The vessel is embellished with "veining" to give the piece texture and a very tactile feel to the surface. The vessel itself is approximately 6" in diameter and a little over 2.5" tall. It is a solid piece and weighs over 2 pounds. The piece is signed and dated on the bottom and finished with several coats of Danish Tung Oil. Each vessel comes with an 18" white phalaenopsis orchid stem complete with leaves and life like roots. The orchid can be removed and other flowers can be arranged in its place. This makes an excellent gift for a housewarming, wedding or anniversary gift - especially the 5th wedding anniversary - or as an accent piece to brighten a room or a desk. Thank you for your interest.

For Wedding Bride And Groom Toasting Flutes - Walnut StemsMike was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. He was able to make the toasting flutes with Koa wood at my request to match the grooms' rings & love for Koa wood. He was also able to make a cake & knife server set using the Koa wood. My friends received many compliments on the uniqueness and quality craftmanship of their flutes & server set. If I could post photos from the wedding photographer, I would! I recommend Mike and would work with him again!

For beer tap made out of wood or metalEven though I was not certain as to what I wanted from Mike, he showed me the options and guided me through the woodworking process. Mike sent me pictures of the project's progress, was very communicative, finished on time, and shipped the final product securely. The final outcome exceeded my expectations and made my friends (recipients of Mike's work) very happy.
I would work with Mike again and recommend him to friends.
