The Castle, Recycled Oak Wine Barrel Staves Lamp, Shoji Paper
The Castle lamp has been crafted by skillfully joining together oak wine barrel staves, recycled from discarded French barrels and reinvented into this elegant and unique lamp. The inner cylindrical chamber is lined with Japanese shoji paper, laminated 80% rice pulp, extra resistant. The staves' contour is refined by an original profile that adds movement and freshness to the silhouette. The lamp's staves are stained with a rich mahogany color on the outside while the inside still retains the rich reddish color left by the wine previously held in the barrel. It can be included as an extraordinary and unique piece of interior decor from the rustic to the more contemporary and used either as a table lamp or as a floor lamp.

For Orbits Chandelier5.0This was our first project with CustomMade and it DEFINITELY won't be our last thanks to Stil Novo Design. My wife and I bought our home in South Florida a couple years ago. It was built in '91 and was all original. We loved the house, the neighborhood, and absolutely HATED all of the finishes (which was perfect because we wanted to do a full renovation, top to bottom, our own style). After replacing the roof with custom concrete tiles, replacing all of the windows and sliding doors with impact glass, re stuccoing the entire house smooth, repainting, building a concrete planter box, demolishing and rebuilding the screen porch, and installing stacked stone, it was time to deal with lighting. I knew we were going to install warm, low voltage LED lighting in the planter and the sides of the garage and wanted to do the same type of lighting for the entrance. Our main entrance has an archway where a cheap hanging lamp once hung. We wanted something different, that nobody else would have, rather than something you would see at somebody's house and recognize from Home Depot or a West Elm catalog. We spent weeks on the iPad looking at pendant lamps and modern/contemporary chandeliers before we ended up at CustomMade. That's when we saw the Orbits Chandelier. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Once we started corresponding with the creators, we KNEW we had made the right choice. Some people worry about shopping online. They have to physically see, touch, hold something before they make a purchase. We're the opposite of that, and even bought our bedroom set and mattress from California, online, and couldn't be more pleased with that purchase either. If you do enough research and read enough reviews, you can often make better purchases than what's locally available. Camilla and Stefano are the husband and wife team that created the Orbits Chandelier, and it's nothing short of amazing. They made it to our exact specifications (diameter, rod mount rather than a chain, and extra protection for humid, salty air). Camilla kept in touch with me regularly from the moment they received the deposit to delivery, and even after the installation to make sure everything was perfect. I sent them a few before and after pics of our house and her response showed how caring and passionate she and Stefano are about their work, and their clients. She explained that they are always excited when a client sends pics so they can see their creations in their new home. The lamp is amazing, and the quality of construction and materials are top shelf. We might never have the opportunity to meet Camilla and Stefano in person because they live on the opposite corner of the country, but if we do, my wife and I will give them a big hug, because we absolutely LOVE the Orbits Chandelier and they were an absolute pleasure to work with.
