Pipe Box - Wonderful For Fireplace Matches Too!
In the eighteenth century, boxes like this would be found in homes and taverns and used to store clay pipes and tobacco. Today, it is a wonderful accent piece for the fireplace and the perfect place to store fireplace matches or candles. The example shown was fashioned from solid mahogany and features a simple dovetailed drawer to hold smaller matches or perhaps a lighter. The box is finished is shellac and has a beautiful warm glow that is perfect for any room. Also available in maple, curly maple, and cherry.

Roger is a member of The Society of American Period Furniture Makers and a member of The Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers (GNHW). He is a past president of GNHW and of the steering committee. He is the chair of the board of trustees of The New Hampshire Institute of Furniture Making.
Roger is also a graduate of the furniture program at Boston's acclaimed North Bennet Street School.
StrathamWood Studios office and design studio is located in Stratham, NH and the workshop is located in the Salmon Falls Mills in Rollinsford, NH.
